He then worked at the Lawrence Berkeley Lab, University of California, Berkeley, before returning to India in 1992. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He has been a faculty member of the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), since 1992. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He is currently the Director of IISc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Rangarajan\u2019s research interests include nonlinear dynamics and chaos and time series analysis. He is a Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences, India. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was awarded a JC Bose National Fellowship. He was awarded the Knight of the Order of Academic Palms (Chevalier dans l\u2019Ordre des Palmes Academiques) by the Government of France and the Distinguished Alumnus Award by BITS, Pilani.
