Title

:

Introduction to the theory of Coverage Processes and Applications

Abstract

:

A Coverage Process is a sequence of sets in a euclidean space with
either the centers of the sets and/or the shape of the sets being
random. In the first talk, we shall look at results for Vacancy (i.e, the
area not covered by the process) of a specific Coverage process called the
Boolean Model. This will help us to understand the generic theory of
Coverage process.

In the second part, we shall describe some of the applications of
Coverage process in the context of wireless sensor networks. The talk
shall be accessible to all those with knowledge of elementary probability
theory.
