GAME THEORY AND MECHANISM DESIGN

January 11 - 15, 2016

Nature of the program:

Game theory and mechanism design deal with interactions among strategic agents. While game theory is concerned with analysis of games, mechanism design involves designing games with desirable outcomes. Currently these are lively and active areas of research for inter-disciplinary problem solving.

Disciplines where game theory and mechanism design have traditionally been used include economics, business, sociology, political science, biology, philosophy, and engineering. More recently, game theory has been embraced by computer science and electrical engineering disciplines in the context of many emerging applications.

The central objective of this workshop is to provide a sound understanding of the science behind the use of game theory and mechanism design in solving modern problems in engineering, especially in computer science and network engineering. The workshop will include tutorial lectures on foundational topics and will be followed by presentations on advanced research topics.

Deadline for application: 02 December 2015.

There will be a poster session at the workshop. The Ph.D. students among the selected participants will be invited to submit a poster proposal before December 15. Selected posters will be presented on the Thursday of the workshop week.
