PRE-DOC AND POST-DOC INFORMATION
IFIM does not, by itself, run pre-doc nor post-doc programmes.
On the French side, such programmes are mainly run by the Ministery in charge
of Research, by the CNRS, and by the French Embassy. On the Indian side, these
programmes are supported by the universities/research institutes
themselves or by funding agencies such as NBHM, DST, CSIR and UGC.
Interested persons should visit their websites (see useful links). IFIM
may act at two levels, by helping teams or individuals present
a project and by giving support to a presented project.
HOW TO SUBMIT A RESEARCH PROJECT?
IFIM supports research projects in all fields of mathematics involving Indian
and French partners. IFIM essentially supports travel expenses and stay
expenses for medium range visits (a few weeks), but does not support, in
general, participation in conferences per se. Applications, which are
scrutinized by the Scientific Committee, must be sent by e-mail (see contact
us), and should contain the following information :
- a description of the scientific project
- bibliographic references which can be backed by texts of as yet unpublished
documents
- biographic data (CV) of the applicant and/or other collaborators involved in
the project
- the composition of team in the host country with e-mail address(es), as well as
e-mail address(es) of senior researcher(s) who can be consulted for backing the
application (the younger the applicant, the more important is such data)
- a financial plan, making explicit the different expected sources of support
