  • The Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, the official journal of the Society for Mathematical Biology, disseminates original research findings and other information relevant to the interface of biology and the mathematical sciences. Contributions should have relevance to both fields. In order to accommodate the broad scope of new developments, the journal accepts a variety of contributions, including:

    • Original research articles focused on new biological insights gained with the help of tools from the mathematical sciences or new mathematical tools and methods with demonstrated applicability to biological investigations
    • Research in mathematical biology education
    • Reviews
    • Commentaries
    • Perspectives, and contributions that discuss issues important to the profession
    All contributions are peer-reviewed.
    • Offers reports on theoretical advances, with clear exposition of how they further biological understanding
    • Disciplines covered include computational, theoretical and experimental biology
    • Official journal of the Society for Mathematical Biology
    • 95% of authors who answered a survey reported that they would definitely publish or probably publish in the journal again

  • The digitization of the back issues of the Bulletin of the American Mathematical Society from 1891 to 1991 was made possible with the generous support of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation through a grant to the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute. The digitization of the back issues from 1992 to 1995 was part of the AMS Journals Digitization Project, which was made possible through the generous support of an anonymous donor.

The American Mathematical Society makes all issues of the Bulletin freely available to all mathematicians through the generosity of its members.

  • The Bulletin of the Brazilian Mathematical Society was relaunched in 1989 in a new edition and international editorial board. This journal publishes high quality papers in mathematics.

This journal was partially supported by a CNPq/CAPES grant until 2016 (Volume 47).
