Perspectives on Complexity Theory and Cryptography

January 10 - 13, 2017

Nature of the program:

This workshop is part of the Thematic Year on Complexity Theory and Cryptography (August 2016 - July 2017) organized by the National Mathematics Initiative (NM) at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

The goal of this workshop is provide a forum for active researchers in the focus areas to interact and collaborate. It will also help students and postdocs to find new opportunities to pursue research in these areas. This workshop will focus on the following themes of research in complexity theory and cryptography.

  • Lattice Based Cryptography,

  • Homomorphic Secret Sharing Schemes,

  • Communication Complexity,

  • Algorithms <-> Lower Bounds, and

  • Partition Functions, Polynomials, and Optimization.

The program will include talks by eminent researchers in each of these themes. Details of speakers, talks, and the program schedule can be found on the web site of the workshop at http://math.iisc.ernet.in/~nmi/PCTC_Orgcomm.php The scope of these dedicated sessions is kept narrow enough to encourage detailed technical discussions.

We invite participation in this workshop by researchers with active interests in the above and related areas. Ph.D. students and postdocs interested in pursuing research in these areas are particularly encouraged to apply. Applications can be submitted from the above web site.
