Title |
: |
Tamagawa number conjecture |
| Abstract | : |
Associated to a smooth, projective variety X
defined over a number field are various cohomology theories that are known/expected to be compatible with each other. These compatibilities give rise to natural arithmetic invariants of X. The Tamagawa number conjecture predicts the relation between these invariants and the L-function of X. In this talk, we shall look at the formulation of the conjecture and consider two special cases -- X = a point (Spec K) and X = elliptic curve. |
