On this annual Open Day of IISc, the Mathematics Department has a number of activities to showcase and promote mathematics. These include:
- Demonstrations (whole day)
- Quiz
- Two movie screenings, including “Secrets of the Surface: the Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani” (courtesy of the creators, ZALA Films) – it was filmed in Canada, Iran, and USA, and examines the life and mathematical work of Maryam Mirzakhani, the first woman and first Iranian to win the Fields Medal.
