I will discuss some classical gems from number theory describing the behaviour of continued fraction expansions. I will then provide modern upgrades to these theorems using the ergodic theory of group actions on homogeneous spaces of Lie groups. The new work is joint with Gaurav Aggarwal (University of Zurich).
